My theme today is music and I have a fun project using song lyrics! I know what you are thinking - it is way to early to start thinking of winter and the holidays. But, it will be here before you know it!
Here is my project
I created a mixed media canvas. My supplies include a canvas, paint, tissue paper, pattern paper, song lyrics printed on copy paper and my Helmar Craft and Hobby Glue. This is the perfect all purpose glue for paper crafting!
The background is created by sponging on various blue acrylic paints and splattered with white.
Once the background was dry, I applied layers of tissue paper. While wet I sprinkled with glitter.
It is now time to create Frosty and the trees. I cut circles out of the lyrics to form the snowman. I added a hat and scarf. The trees are simple triangles cut from different pattern papers. Everything was glued with the Craft and Hobby Glue. Snowflakes made from tissue paper and the lyrics were also scattered and glued down. Lastly I added the title and lyrics. I used a watercolor pencil to add detailing around the snowman and trees.
Once the canvas was completely dried, I sprayed it with Crystal Kote Gloss Finish
This seals the canvas and protects it from dust and fading. Here is a close up of the finished canvas. This will be a wonderful addition to my winter decor!
