Hello! It’s Robyn Wood with you today sharing a quick and easy Christmas card featuring Helmar adhesive and a non-traditional colour scheme of red and aqua.
With Christmas edging ever closer, you probably don’t have a lot of time to create cards for giving, so I wanted to share this one that makes the best use of stickers & printed papers. I raided my stash, but I’m sure you all have ‘Merry Christmas’ type stickers and suitable printed papers hidden somewhere! For the printed panel, use either patterned papers featuring ‘frame’ type images or the papers that come with 9 or more smaller images printed over the sheet.
I’ve matted the frame paper with a complimentary coloured blue layer that had been torn along the bottom (All the layers have been adhered with Helmar Tacky Craft Glue). I then tied a thin piece of red ribbon across the bottom and used Helmar Fabric Glue to adhere the ribbon so it stays in place.
The layered panel was attached to a red, tent folded A5 card base using Helmar Tacky Craft Glue. I found a cool sheet of glittery baubles in my stash so I punched out a trio of them using a circle punch, then adhered them to the frame using Helmar Scrap Dots to give a little dimension. I used a fine, black pen to draw in the strings.
Despite being different brands, I found a sheet of Christmas words that perfectly matched the frame colours. So, a greeting was selected and matted with a scrap of aqua cardstock and adhered over the left side of the frame.
If you don’t happen to have anything suitable, a variety of greetings can be easily printed using your home printer.
Finishing touches of buttons and gemstones completed the card in no time.
