Today I have created a set of four bud vases using some recycled mini bar bottles and spice bottles.
The first step was to remove the sticky labels from the bottles, made so much easier with the H3000 Remove Cleaner.
Now it is time to decorate so I gathered some co-ordinating laces, trims, twines, washi tape and flowers and added these to my vases using the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.
Hello there, today I am doing a 'Spotlight' post and I've chosen Helmar Fabric Glue as the star!
What you will need:
Helmar Fabric Glue, paper, fabric, scissors, scrap laces and a button.
Firstly, fold your chosen paper inwards so that the edges will overlap about 2cm (1/2") and fold the bottom up about the same. Open up the paper and cut the bottom sides at the crease, angling towards the centre. Then cut the top side sections off at the crease. Shape the centre top piece to your desired shape for the envelope flap.
Cover the paper piece (wrong side) with glue and place on your fabric. Don't worry too much about any glue seeping through the fabric as this will be on the inside of your envelope. Allow time to dry thoroughly.
Once dry, fold into the shape of your envelope and apply Helmar Fabric Glue to the edge that will be on top and along the little flap at the bottom and fold up.
Flip over your envelope and begin to decorate by applying Helmar Fabric Glue to the front and some pretty scraps of lace.
Making the Flower
To make the scrappy flower for the front, select a few scraps of lace and fabric and cut into rough circles, approximately 7-8cm (3"). Cut a circle from some scrap paper smaller than the size of the lace circles for the base of the flower. Apply Helmar Fabric Glue to the middle of the paper circle and then lay a lace piece on top, scrunching it up in the centre to add some dimension. Keep adding layers of laces and fabrics, alternating them as you go and placing them a little off centre every now and then.
I had a little off white flower petal in my scrap basket so I placed it on the very top and then applied Helmar Fabric Glue to my button of choice, a pretty satin wedding button, and then placed it in the middle of the flower and pressed firmly down.
Once dry, I glued it to the front of the envelope and that's it, a very pretty fabric envelope with a lovely shabby vintage feel ready to give to someone special.

Hey hey folks, Tamiko here! So glad to create again for you guys this month! I am such a DOG GIRL!! I love them all and they seem to love me, from the smallest of them to the largest. Although it would seem easy to just create a scrapbook page with my Macy, the idea didn't speak to me. I had to do something different, even for me. I spend hours looking at things on pinterest and I find goo-gobs of things I'd like to make/sew. I don't sew yet so I just do what I do with glue and paper until that changes! I found some awesome pendants I was inspired by. Very whimsical take I might add, please check it out below!
Supplies needed (but not limited to):
Helmars Craft & Hobby PVA Glue
Watercolor paper scraps
Corrugated board scraps
Patterned paper scrap
Watercolor paint
Brush
Gold Leaf
Fine point pen
Pencil

I first took some papers and cut them to size, so I could take my Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue and adhere layers of paper. I exposed some of the texture in the corrugated board and ran a lil gesso over the edges with my fingers. I almost stopped because it was truly the perfect ATC (artist trading card), but I said NO.. We need more.
As I was layering the paper pieces I decided to add a bit more dimension by using a paper bead as a kind of bail for the thread, floss or ribbon I would use to hang the pendant. While I made 3 beads.. I only used one... When creating paper beads there are tons of templates that you can google to learn to how to cut the perfect template for the shape bead you want. After I cut my pieces of paper, I watercolor painted them and let the papers dry. My beading wand helps me to quickly and tightly roll the watercolor paper. As I get closer to the tip I applied some Helmars Craft & Hobby PVA Glue and rolled the bead against my fingers until the tip was nice and clinging to the drying bead.
I drew a very loose sketch of a dog with a pencil on my watercolor paper. To assure a primitive appearance I did it with my left hand. Accuracy and realness was NOT something I wanted to achieve. I loosely added color to the dog and fussy cut him from the larger scrap of paper. I also added some wings to him. Fussy cut the wings and added them to my doggy. ::love him, he is so cute:: Added the wings using some Helmars 450 Quick Dry Glue.
I didn't want my pendant to look so flat so I took some small pieces of board and more Helmars Craft & Hobby PVA Glue and propped him up on the pendant!
Added the finished Paper bead with the Helmars 450 Quick Dry Glue also, moreso beacuse the bead needed the gel glue to cushion it against the flat surface.
Finally I took some Helmars Craft & Hobby Glue on my finger tips and added bit to the outside of the pendant... Let it dry, then added some gold leaf to add some sparkle to the pendant! So adorbs!!.. Just brush the extra gold leaf off with a soft brush and TADAH!!

Hi crafty friends! Today I bring you an place you can add your fun photos that you have taken this summer and have them in this colorful tin.
I have a variety of plain tins that I've acquired and thought I'd use it. I also decided to use some fun, summer themed, colorful paper from Prima Marketing St. Tropez Collection . I first used some of the Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks onto the entire surface of the tin. I then just selected my papers and cut them to fit leaving a 1/8 inch from the edge.
Once cut I used my We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile- Corner Chomper on the papers then I used some of the Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo which is a favorite, around the edges of my design paper. I then cut out some 4x4 ivory cardstock to make my photo mats. I added them together with some dark blue ribbon. All together there 4 mats and I added some design paper on both ends for a total of 8 photo mats.
Once done with adding a place for photo mats I added a piece of cotton lace on the lid as a pocket for some tags from the paper collection. Lastly I added some embellishments on the lid.
For this entire project I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Glue

The night before Steamfesta I decided I would try making Steampunk Spats from some brown leather type vinyl fabric I had as my boots were black and my bag was brown.

To create my spats I made a pattern from my shoe following the instructions on Spats pattern making in this tutorial but as my sewing machine was not available I decided to use Helmar Fabric Glue to make my Spats instead of sewing them, except for the under boot strap and button which I hand sewed onto my finished Spats.
I wound up cutting my pattern so the part that had to be joined together was at the front, in future I think I will do the front on the fold so I close it up at the back.
To close the front I glued 1 side down to itself and then glued it on top of the other one using Helmar Fabric Glue and positioning it so it looked like a nice clean seam.
I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere some gorgeous gold trim and some metal cogs and gears to my spats, to give them that Steampunk Feel.
Lessons learned from making my fur boot covers for my Cheshire Cat Cosplay I wanted to make some straps that went under the shoe to hold the spat in place.
I just used some random scraps and glued the edges down with Helmar Fabric Glue to get a nice look to them.
I then hand sewed them on to my spat, cut a slit as a bottom hole and then sewed a cool button to my spat from my op-shop button stash.
How cool do they look?

This week I have challenged myself with a golf theme. Yep golf ! My father in law plays golf 3-4 days a week and has so many buckets of balls in his shed, so I thought okay what can I do ?
I have seen very creative crafty people create snakes, snails and lady bugs out of golf balls, but I have 2 grand daughters, so I was thinking pink and girly.
So this is what I created "Ball Butterflies"
To start with I have coloured the stark white balls with some pretty pink, blue and purple alcohol inks. And while the inks were tacky I have rubbed on some gold foil. Just to bling them up a bit.
I then needed to securely glue the balls together so I used my trusty 450 glue, always gives a secure stick. Glueing 2 balls together was fine the tricky one was the 3 balls. I did add a few layers of glue to the balls to securely attach them to each other.
I have used a butterfly clip for the wings by dismantling this pictured butterfly and getting 3 sets of wings
To hide the glueing seam I tied some black tulle around the join and then used my 450 again to glue on strips of flat back black pearls.
Finally finishing off my butterflies by attaching the wings with a large gem, again with my 450. Love this glue !
This project was fun but took 2 days to create allowing sufficient time for the glue to dry securely between each layer, before moving on to the next step.

Hello! It’s Robyn Wood with you today sharing a colourful, watercoloured tag project. I love the ease of using watercolour for a variety of projects and find that once you have mastered a few techniques, the options are endless.
For this project, I trimmed a tag shape from some cream cardstock scrap and covered parts of the surface with dribbles of masking fluid. You need to allow masking fluid plenty of time to dry so it doesn’t ruin your brushes.
Once the masking fluid was dry, I simply painted over the surface of the tag with watercolour. I’ve used a liquid watercolour to make the process nice & quick. Liquid watercolour can easily be blended or watered down to give different colours and washes. Once the tag was dry, I simply rubbed the masking fluid away with my fingers.
I stamped a greeting and flower stamp using Archival black ink. The greeting was trimmed closely and mounted onto a cardstock layer using Helmar Scrap Dots.
The flower image had been stamped onto watercolour cardstock, making it nice and easy to blend watercolours to create a soft effect. I then fussy cut my flower.
While the pink watercolour was in use, I painted a scrap of watercolour card so that I could punch out a scalloped circle to go on the top of my tag.
The tag was assembled using Helmar Tacky Glue to adhere the flower, greeting and tag top. I then threaded the tag with a short length of pretty ribbon and it was done.

Hello there, today I am working with the theme of Romance. I love the romantic style. I imagine flowers, hearts, laces and ruffles, dreamy images of yesteryear. So, with my head in the clouds I decided to make a romantic style card.
What I used:
Scissors, Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue, a fine tipped bottle and a stylus together with a selection of papers and various die cuts.
I started with a piece of tea stained manilla file folder as these seem to be quite popular in crafting at the moment. I folded and cut it to the size of 15cm x 10cm (6" x 4"). I cut a piece of scrapbooking paper 14cm x 9cm (5.5" x 3.5") and then roughed up the edges with an old pair of scissors and inked them lightly with Walnut Distress Stain. The paperline I used was 'Pen and Ink' by Kaisercraft.
Then, using my Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue I glued it to the card base.
Time to play around with the die cuts and find a nice design.
I used the stylus to add a little texture and dimension to some of the die cuts.
Because some of the die cuts are very delicate I find it easier to transfer some of the Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue into a small bottle with a very fine tip so that application is easier.
The original bottle was still used for the larger die cuts.
I included some cheese cloth into the design to soften the look a little.
Lastly, I used the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to apply some flat backed pearls, beads and fabric flowers to the card.
Although my card did not end up with any ruffles, I enjoyed the process so much that I decided to make a gift bag to go with it and included some ruffled lace into that design giving it a lovely romantic style.
I hope you've enjoyed this little card making tutorial today. I would normally use the Helmar Tacky Craft Glue with my paper projects but thought it may be interesting to try the Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue to see how well it works. I found the drying time was slightly longer which was a good thing as it enabled me to move things around a little before it took hold and once it was dry, it had a very strong hold.

Hello everyone Tamiko here! I love art journals and I cannot lie!! ::giggles:: Nothing makes me happier in the form of a paper craft then making a book of some sort. Check this one out..
Supplies needed:
Various papers
Paper cutter
Scissors
Corrugated board
Canvas material
Glue brush
water
I first grabbed papers, (many kind) and cut them down to 3 X 5 inches. You can choose any size you want. I decided I wanted a size that allowed me to place the book in my pocket or art bag. I used scrapbook papers of different weights, painted papers, music paper, Chinese language papers, tags and receipts. Once I got a small collection of those, I stacked them tightly and lined up on one edge and clipped them. The clip to hold the papers in place, while applying Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA glue to the one side which will serve as the spine, of the book. Let it dry, then slather another layer of glue and repeat (for about 3 or 4 layers). Don't forget to dip your brush in some water that has maybe a drop of dish washing detergent in it Helmar's glue is washable, but I just take the extra precautions with my brushes out of habit.
I used corrugated board to create front and back covers; canvas material and more Helmar Craft & Hobby glue to cover the boards and glue spine. The napkins to decoupaged on the cover and I fussy cut some animals I like and added them, just because I could. I have no idea what I will do with this book. I could challenge myself to do some 3-5 minute faces or art daily; or I could just give it away in some happy mail. ::shrugs:: I have more fun making them then using them sometimes ::smile::I hope you all like the book I created! I get inspiration from bookmakers like Kiala Givehand and Jeanne Oliver! They both show you pretty awesome book creations ;you can make with minimal supplies we seem to have around the house. Just make sure you use Helmar adhesives in your projects! They will hold stronger for longer and the glues won't eat or age your papers!! Thanks for stopping by!!
Hello, from Tina! Today's project supplies are: ceramic tiles. alcohol ink, 91% alcohol, paint brush, oil based sharpies, newspaper.
My friend and I recently made ceramic tile coasters using alcohol ink.
First, pour or paint the ceramic tile with alcohol, then drop various colors of the alcohol inks onto the tile. The colors will bloom and run and blend making cool patterns.
The alcohol dries really fast so I choose to work quickly and missed taking pictures. But here are the few photos I managed to take...
Now to seal the coasters so they will not fade over time.
Today I am using(Helmar Crystal Kote Fixative) to seal my project.
I wanted to spay outside, but it is raining. So I just sprayed the coaster in a cardboard box near an open door and window.
Works great! I look forward to using these colorful coasters.
