Hey Hey good people, Tamiko here!! Can you believe this decade is almost over? We have less then 45 days of this decade, then we are on to 2020! I said 2020! I am so grateful for the projects I have been able to make and share my process with you guys! Today isn't any different! I need to make a tag for a partner I am swapping with. I chose to do this swap for 2 reasons: 1) This is November perfect month to start a gratitude practice of any kind. 2) After 21 days of anything you can create a habit and you can carry this new practice into the new year! Starting out the new year THANKFUL for all you have currently, only allows you to appreciate everything to come with eyes wide open! Let me show you the tag I made for my partner! Check it out!
Supplies needed:
Pre-cut Tags or Cardstock to cut tags
Scissors
Fabric Scraps
Faux Flower and leaf (or you can make one :) )
Ribbon
Glass bubble
Cardstock images (butterfly and face)
I took 2 pre-cut tags and adhered the backs together with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Glue. I folded one of the tags in half to create an easel type stand. This way the tag will be able to stand upright on it own.
I then threaded my favorite seasonal wired ribbon through the hole making sure that I thread it in a way that my bow is on the right side of the tag!! Doing it wrong can be frustrating, (smile) so pay attention the first time!! (haha) I then used the marvelous Helmar 450 Quick Dry Glue to adhere my faux sunflower and leaf to the page. I didn't switch glues because this particular one allows various texture and textiles to adhere without there being a flat surface. The TACK is super long lasting! I do apologize for not taking picture of me sticking down the flower. I love sunflowers. I think I was just captivated in all that golden loveliness (haha). When I stick the leaf down I used the clip for a few moments, it wasn't necessary but I am always multitasking, so I needed my hands!!
I added some small basic details. I was determined to use some of these glass bubbles/pebbles. So I took some crdstock and searched for images (faces) to create some cute butterflies. I didn't have to use this glue for the next part, but I was on a row for showing you guys the versatility of things that could be held together but using Helmar 450 Quick Dry. (smile) I placed the glue on the image and placed the glass pebble on top. I fussycut the excess paper, flipped it over and added colorful butterfly wings. Isn't she cute?
Aww man, I just noticed that I accidently deleted my step pics showing how I made the decorative and whimsical leaf and sentiment! I took some green burlap and edged it with a brown loopy trim. Reminds me of leaves I've drawn and painted in the past. I also pieced some fabric together and added a sentiment with my pen! Its always awesome to use your own handwriting when you can. I'll just get a few close ups and insert them below!
