Hello everyone!
Today's creation is one I've been thinking about for awhile and when I got my Helmar Fabric Stiffner and draping liquid I knew exactly how to go about creating my shabby chic Xmas ribbon tree
I started with some calico and sized out a circle big enough to drape over the top of the styrofoam cone tree.
Once I had cut out the calico it was time to totally soak the calico in the Fabric Stiffner Glue.
I then draped this over the tree cone gathering and creating pleats to add dimension to the trees skirt.
This then has to sit a dry for at least 24 hours.
I have then sprayed the calico tree with a shimmery gold paint by Bo Bunny dried this off and then added some Lindys spray paint in a shimmery green.
Once dried, it was time to break out my huge collection of lace, ribbons and crochet trims in cream colours.
I have then used a dress pin on the top of the tree to secure my trims and began to drape them adjusting thicknesses and styles so none were double up.
Once I was happy with the look I take my ever faithful 450 glue and start to,glue the trims in place.
Oh my! It's starting to look good!
But, it still needs something so out with the can of Helmar Spray Adhesive and some glitter and tiny sparkly confetti!
Leave this to dry overnight.
Finish off with some lace stars and some pearls.
I'm very happy and proud of this project!
Enjoy!!
