Hey hey folks, Tamiko here!! It's been a pretty difficult winter for us. Seems like the house has been sickly every two weeks. I've be decluttering and searching and I've only had small increments of time to do art! I appreciate the art swaps I'm able to participate in monthly. For me - it's mandatory art time!! This week I had to do a few artist trading cards (ATC). Check this Kite themed one out.. 😍
Supplies needed:
Helmar's Craft and Hobby PVA Glue
140lb watercolor paper
Scraps of pre-painted papers
Bakers twine
Rhinstones
Scissors
Paper trimmer
ATCs are trading cards measure 3.5 x 2.5 inches. They are meant to be traded, not sold. These are the ONLY rules that apply. 😊 Below you will see I created a layered base with card stock and a pre-painted scrap piece of paper. I applied Helmar's Craft and Hobby PVA Glue because it's thin and has fast tack.
Now that the base meets the required size. Time to create a kite. I loosely measured a kite with watercolor paper, large enough to cover the base by 75%. I used my watercolor paints to color the kite! Once it was dry, I used the Craft and Hobby PVA Glue to adhere bakers twine and create faux strings and tail. I also added a lil' bling with rhinestones.
ATCs can be quick & fast or very intricately detailed. Nothing can be more embarrassing then the work you put into your miniature artwork falling apart by using the wrong adhesive. Shop through Helmar's Worldwide product line any try the adhesives, see the difference in the use of quality glue!
Check out this other ATC I sent my swap partner just in time for Valentine's Day.
Doesn't that look like fun???
Thanks for stopping by!!!!
