Happy February my Crafty Friends! I'm back this month with a fun Valentine decor project. February is all about celebrating "Love" with all our family, friends or that special someone. I used this cute paper collection "Main Squeeze" from Crate paper and some Prima flowers.

Supplies Needed:
Craft Paint in White and Light Pink
Blank Wooden Heart Shape (mine measures 10 1/2 inches by 81/4)
Sponge brush and small paint brush
Assorted Helmar Glues (will list specific glues used in my instructions)
Crate Paper's "Main Squeeze " paper collection including chipboard shapes, sticker pack, journaling card
Red Lace Heart Doily (mine measures 53/4 x 51/4 inches)
Prima Flowers assorted red, pink white and small white roses
Liquid pearls in White Opal
Stickles glitter (star dust)
Red Tulle/ pink heart gem
Lace or fuzzy pink trim
Any other stickers or items in your stash
Step One: Squirt a dab of red and pink craft paint onto a scrap cardboard. Take your sponge brush to dab into each color. Then pounce onto your wooden heart surface. Keep repeating this step until you cover the whole surface. Don't worry if some areas of plain wood show through. It gives it a nice distressed look!

Next take your lace or trim, and use Helmar Fabric Glue to attach your lace around the edge of your heart. Helmar Fabric Glue is my favorite go to glue when I want a pernament, flexible and secure bond for my project.
Take your lace Doily and lightly brush a thin coat of Helmar Acid Free glue to the back of your doily. Attach carefully to the center of your heart. You can smooth it out, using your fingers. Be careful not to tear it. But don't worry you'll be covering most of it.

Lastly take your brush and add a small amount of glue over the top to seal the edges of your doily.

Next choose a journaling card and add Helmar Scrap Dots to the back to add dimension. Attach to the center of your heart doily.

Take a matching chipboard piece and glue this over the matching image on your journaling card using Helmar Tacky Craft Glue.

Now it's time to decorate your heart. Build from the center out. You can add Flowers, a sticker sentiment, chipboards, hearts, whatever you prefer. This is a great way to use all your scraps and leftover pieces from your crafty stash. Play around with your design before you glue them down. I used Helmar Super Tacky Glue to attach all my pieces to my heart surface.

For your last step, you can add some Tulle or Ribbon, tie in a bow. Then add it to the bottom of your heart. I recommend Helmar Fabric Glue for this step. I love using Stickles glitter! I added some to the fruity leaves on my chipboard pieces. Then a few liquid pearls over the dots on my fruit.
I thank you for visiting the Helmar Worldwide blog and checking out the projects.
Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's day! See you next month!
