I'm happy to be back on the Helmar Worldwide blog today, with a summertime tag and pocket album. I chose to use Graphic 45 " By the Sea" paper collection and G45 tag/pocket album for this project. It's a great way to scrapbook all your vacation/beachy photos!
Supply List:
Graphic 45 "By the Sea " Papercraft kit ( includes sticker sheet and chipboards)
Graphic 45 Staples Kraft square Tag & Pocket
album, 5x5
Cream cardstock
Helmar Assorted glues: Super-tac, Scrap Dots, Premium craft glue, Craft & Hobby PVA glue
Scissors, paper trimmer, round corner punch
Twine or Raffia
Seashells, gems or Prima Crystals
Metal trinket: starfish, brass seashell
Prima flowers, Pearls, Lace Trim
Distress Ink (optional)
You are free to chose any decorative papers you prefer to decorate your album. I will list the measurements below:
Front, and back of album and inside front and back covers: I cut my papers to measure 5 1/2 inches x 51/2
Inside pages measure: 5 1/4 x 51/4
Tags measure: 4 1/2 x 41/4
Inside pockets measure: 5 1/4 x 2 1/8
I covered the front and back of my album with "set sail " papers at 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and used Helmar Premium craft glue to adhere to my album surfaces. This glue dries clear and has a super strong bond. Smooth out your edges.
To add the second layer of 5x5 paper to the front of the album, I used my favorite Helmar Scrap Dots to adhere on top of the base layer. These Helmar Scrap Dots add so much dimension to your projects! I love them!
The 3rd top layer is cut to 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches. Apply Helmar Scrap Dots to this layer as you did in the previous step.
This is how your album should look so far:
Next I took a piece of lace trim and glued it along the left side of my album, over the binding. I used Helmar Fabric glue to attach my lace to my album. It dries clear, and has a flexible bond. Grabs quickly and permanently.
To decorate the front of my album, I took one of the journaling cards and added Helmar Scrap Dots to the back and adhered it to the upper right side of my album.
I added some Prima flowers, real seashell, and crystals with Helmar Premium craft glue. And also glued a brass seashell on the bottom of my journaling card. I tucked a few pearls in between my flowers with Helmar Super-tac glues. This glue holds super fast and dries clear too.
And added a couple chipboard pieces also using Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA glue.
Now for the inside of your album, I used Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA glue to attach my papers in my album. This glue is perfect for all paper crafts. Dries clear and won't buckle up your papers.
The cream cardstock I used on some of my pages for matting and adding a photo. I cut it to measure 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches. I used a decorative corner punch for some of my mats. But you can skip this step if you like. Your album will still be pretty.
Throughout each album page, I decorated my pages using a variety of stickers, fuzzy cut images and or chipboards. I inked the edges of my fuzzy cut images with distress ink to make them stand out. I then applied Helmar Scrap Dots to the back and adhered them to my page.
There are peek a boo slots to hold a journaling card and the pockets inside the album too. I will attach samples for you of how I decorated my pages. For the tags, I knotted and tied a piece of twine through the comment on the Tag. I repeated this process for all the tags in this album.
Repeat this process for all the album pages.
Last I decorated the outside binding of my album. I cut our a small journaling sea she'll strip and slid it inside the metal bracket. I glue a metal starfish trinket to the top of the metal frame with Helmar Premium craft glue. And also added a pretty seashell to the bottom.
