Hello Crafty Friends! Happy July! I hope you all are having a good and safe summer. Today I have some summertime tags. I chose Simple Stories "Summer Farmhouse" collection to use for making these tags. It has so many fun embellishments that match these cute papers.
Supplies:
Simple Stories "Summer Farmhouse " 6x8 and 12x12 Papers, 4x6 sticker book, chipboards assorted empherma packs, Brads and enamel dots
3 chipboard tags, ribbon, tulle or twine
Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA glue, Helmar Premium craft glue and Helmar Scrap Dots
Scissors, hole punch, Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Doodlebug flowers, Gems
Whit Opal Liquid Pearls
Grab any size tags you would like to use. The tags I used measured 3 &1/2 x 6 & 1/2. You can also make your own tags out of cereal box cardboard.
I chose 3 bases papers and traced my tag shape on the back and cut them out. Repeat for each tag. Don't forget to punch a hole at the top of your paper tag shape before gluing. Then use Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA glue to adhere your papers onto your tag base. This glue is great for cardboard and is quick drying too! Be sure to cover both the front and back of your tag with your matching or coordinating papers.
For the next layer I chose a coordinating paper and cut it slightly smaller so your first layer of paper shows around the edges. I used Helmar Scrap Dots to adhere my paper onto the top of my base paper. Helmar Scrap Dots add such dimension and they set within 10 mins.
Next I chose what embellishments and stickers I wanted to use to decorate my tag. I planned where I wanted them before gluing them down. I used Helmar Premium craft glue to adhere my embellishments to my tag. This glue sets quickly dries clear. I also fuzzy cut out some images from the papers in this collection, inked the edges with distress ink before adhering them down on your tag.
Last add some ribbons through the top hole of your tag. I glued one of the matching brads to the top. You add some matching enamel dots and gems scattered around on your tag.
You can repeat tgis process for the other two tags. I'm sharing examples below of how I decorated my tags.
For the tag with the truck, I glued some Doodlebug flowers over the flower image to make them stand out. Then added a flower center using White Opal Liquid Pearls.
Hope you enjoyed this tag project and you will create some for yourself. Thanks for stopping by the Helmar Worldwide blog! See you next month!
