Hello again Helmar friends!! I have a question, how many of you love journals, diaries, blank books, etc?! I have LOVED any sort of blank book, journal, diaries since I could remember, maybe at 10-11 years old I was bought my first "Secret Diary", it even had a small heart lock and set of tiny keys. So you can imagine how many I have in a secret spot in my room. As I've gotten older I've purchased thicker ones, lined journals, and other varieties of journals. After I've purchased them I will think, " Why don't I just try to make one myself"? More so of course once I began paper crafting! So that's what I finally decided to make for this month's project.
Supplies that you will need to create one of these journals is: 2 (5x7) pieces of chipboard
50 sheets of plain white printer paper (6 7/8 X 4 7/8)
Design Paper of your choice (9.5 X 12) Smaller piece of paper for the inside of cover (10 X 6.75)
I followed a great tutorial by a lady names Sheri, her YouTube name is The Posh Paper Lady
This lady has the most amazing projects for different occasions, even great ideas for craft fairs, and they are so easy to follow! I won't be posting her tutorial online since this is her design but if you click on her name above it will take you to this tutorial which again is super easy to follow! At times I will post the tutorials if I follow someones tutorial but end up changing something up like the size for example. I like to give credit where credit is due. So please go take a look at her easy to follow tutorials!
I will however let you know that the papers that I used for this project were from three different paper pads from the beautiful Anna Griffin. Her collections and all around products are very beautiful, classy and these journals that I created look like they would be expensive journals from a cute boutique or stationary store. I have actually 4 different paper pads but only used 3 because after I had already cut my papers I would be using for 4 journals, I came across the other paper pad that was apparently hiding . But now that I got the hang of making them I know I will be making many more.
The collections used are:
As I mentioned already these journals are great to make for craft fairs, they for sure would make beautiful Christmas gifts, or just for yourself, I plan to carry mine in my purse as I have journals laying around everywhere in my home. Journaling to me has always been a key part of my day. I write thoughts , ideas, dreams, not so great dreams, not so great days, and much much more! It's never to late for your to begin creating these and starting your journaling journey. It also helps with stress because sometimes we feel like we can't talk to anyone and this just makes it that much easier. Your journal is your friend!
I am also sharing the link to a previous project I did for Helmar using these same paper pads. I created a accessory/barrette holder for my grand daughter that my daughter uses for her barrettes, hair bows and small elastic bands. I'll be making another for my newest grand daughter as they both have tons of hair.
Well crafty friends, I do hope that you liked my project for this month! I do hope that you will check out the tutorial by this talented crafter, I hope you will let her know who sent you! Also as some of you might not know that the warehouse here in The States for the Helmar products isn't open due to this Covid-19 issue. But I am sure some of your local scrapbook stores or online stores might still have them in stock and also the warehouse in Australia is open, here is that link.
See ya all next month!! Hugs, Jeanne
