Who doesn't love a bit of Tim Holtz ?
I have used some ephemera vintage people to add a story to some recycled ribbon reels.
This creation was created using 2 of Helmar adhesives:
450 Quick Dry Adhesive
Glue the ribbon reels together in varying stack heights.
Next, cover these stacks in a coat of gesso.
I have gathered a variety of metal embellishments to adorn the tops of the reel stacks.
Before attaching these metal embellishments I have coloured them using some Alcohol Inks.
While these were drying I have covered a 6" x 4" canvas with some Stamperia papers and inked the edges,
added crackle paste to the top of reels and attched some coloured metal corner embellishments.
To help my paper dolls sit upright on my arrangement I have used 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to attach some stick pins to the backs and also added some coloured highlights to the figures with Distress marker pens.
To embellish the ribbon reels I have glued on a variety of twill ribbons and Ric Rac.
Glue the reel stacks onto the canvas in an arrangement, then I glued this onto a hard covered book to give it dimension.
By folding the legs on a couple of the paper dolls I am able to make them sit on the edge of the reel stacks.
The other paper dolls are secured by poking the pin supports thru a hole in the top of the reel stacks or thru the canvas and book.
To finish of the compilation I added one of Tim's chipboard phrases to the front of the books pages and then some tiny quotes to each Paper Doll.
To embellish the collection I have used the Tacky Crafty glue mixed with glass fragments and applied to the arrangement and allowed to dry.
When the glue dries the glass fragments are attached securely.
Lastly, I glued some small claw feet to each corner of the book for added height and added a few flowers.
