The Three R's

Hello everyone & welcome!

Leanne here today to share my Design Team project with you.

I love to recycle, repurpose & reuse items where I can.
So rather then throw out this tin, I decided to decorate it.
It now sits on my desk and holds my art pens.

So let's create:

First, clean and remove the label from a tin.
Next separate the layers of a napkin.
Most napkins have 3 layers.
Take one of the plain layers and tear into various sized pieces.

Next pour a good sized puddle of Tacky Craft Glue onto a pallet.

I like to use a stippling brush to apply my glue to the surface of the tin.

Work your way around the tin gluing down each piece of napkin.

Once you are happy with the coverage of the napkin layer, 
then glue on an image.
Then set your tin aside to completely dry.
I like to leave mine to dry over night.

I wanted a vintage look for my project, so I applied some
distress ink to my dry napkin surface.
Next spray the napkin surface with a coat of Crystal Kote Gloss.

Now the fun part, decorating...
I glued some lace & faux pearl trim to the edges of the tin
using the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

To finish my project I glued on some flowers, a bow, leaves,
fiber trim, black pearl trim and a butterfly.

Pegasus Altered Soapbox

Helloooooo Everyone.....
Today I have an Altered Box Project for you.
Helmar adhesive range is great for this type of project and I am definitely giving them a workout.

Here is a pic of the main pieces I used. A cardboard soapbox, some bits of Chipboard, Lace,

Metal Horse Legs, Handles & Corners and a Pegasus Resin Creation.

First thing is to attach the lace using 450 Quick Dry Adhesive

I have used some of the Super-Tac Glue to adhere the Chipboard pieces.

To attach the Box Legs I have once again used the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.



I thought I would use the Tiger Grip to attach the crown.



Once everything is glued on and dry, give the whole box 2 coats of Black Gesso.

Once dry I have used Tattered Angels Spray "Fully Purple" all over.

I have used some White Gold Wax all over, but thought it was a little plain so decided to use

the Gemstone Glue to adhere some Swarovsky Crystals around the sides.

To colour Pegasus I have used several waxes to layer up the colour, (if you dont have waxes, metallic paint will do)

I decided to add some other Sworovski Crystals to Pegasus's Crown, and a couple on each of the metal corners,but before

I glued her on I added some Moon Crystals using the Gemstone Glue.

Valentine’s Day Inspired Embellishments

Hello everyone it’s Jaymi here today sharing some cute embellishments you can use on layouts or happy mail as I plan to.

 

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner I thought I would make some valentines inspired embellishments.

 

I started by using some metal dies from my stash and cute them out using different papers.

I then used the craft and hobby PVA glue by Helmar to paper piece together the embellishment. I like using this glue as it is a little runny so it spreads well.

I then used the same glue to add some word embellishments from my stash.

Jewelled Wonder

A jewelled wonder 

I was gifted a bag of faceted 3 D plastic gems and was a bit perplexed as to what to do with them.

 

I then thought why not add them to a ceramic pot to create a very textured unique pot.

I have used Helmar Tiger Grip Glue to attach my gems to this pot completing one side of the pot each day allowing it plenty of time to dry and set.

Once all my little facets were attached it kinda looked like a sparkling jewel. 

So, I have got my alcohol inks out and started splashing it around.

Next step was to highlight my little jewels but not too much! 

I have used a Art Alchemy wax and added some toned colour on my purple inked background... 

and that is my finished pointy jewelled pot can be used for a plant, a candle anything at all.
